On 7 February 2025, the cooperation agreement between the Moscow Kremlin Museums and the Government of the Chelyabinsk Region was signed in the Cross Chamber of the Patriarch’s Palace. The signatures of General Director of the Moscow Kremlin Museums Elena Gagarina and Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region Alexey Texler verified the document. This is not the first agreement between the museums and the Chelyabinsk Region’s government: the previous one was concluded seven years ago and allowed the residents of the Southern Urals to visit a number of exhibitions among which were “Karl Fabergé and Russian Jewellers of the 19th-21st cc”, and “Four Centuries of Russian Tea. A Great Gift of Middle Kingdom”. The new agreement provides for the exhibition “Tsar and Patriarch” that is to open in the Historical Museum of the Southern Urals already this fall.

“Thanks to the demand for the exhibitions and constant interest of public to the next projects, we are continuing our work, and today we have signed the agreement for another seven years. This story has no precedents  - we have never signed agreement with any region for such a long period of time, and we are delighted to receive such an invitation,” said Elena Gagarina.

“Chelyabinsk is the recognized centre of culture in our country. We are developing all creative and cultural directions. Of course, it is important for us to continue the cooperation with such a large and significant museum complex as the Moscow Kremlin Museums. It is worth saying that this interaction is important not only for the audience but also for our collaborators allowing them to gain experience. I think that this work is developing the region generally and those specialists who are involved in the direction in particular,” noted Alexey Texler.

After the agreement was signed, the guided tour round the exposition of the Patriarch’s Palace was held for the governor of the Chelyabinsk Region and guests.
