The Portuguese Association of Museology (APOM) awarded a diploma to The Moscow Kremlin Museums in the Best International Project category for the organization of the exhibition “Lords of the Ocean. Treasures of the Portuguese Empire of the 16th-18th Centuries.”

Each year the Portuguese Association of Museology award prizes in 25 main categories, i.e. Best Museum of the Year, Best Restoration, Best Catalogue, Best Exhibition, Patronage, Museum Project and others. In 2018, the APOM received 253 applications from the museums, situated in continental Portugal and in autonomous regions as well as from other institutions, concerning Portuguese exhibition projects abroad, such as the Moscow Kremlin Museums.

The display “Lords of the Ocean. Treasures of the Portuguese Empire of the 16th-18th Centuries” became the first international exhibition in Russia dedicated to the history and culture of Portugal and to the Age of Discovery.
