The government of the Russian Federation awarded a commendation to Elena Gagarina, General Director of the Moscow Kremlin Museums, for active engagement in preparing and holding international events in 2024 with the participation of the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation. The relevant order was signed by the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation M.V. Mishustin on 24 June 2025.
E.Yu. Gagarina participated personally in the negotiations, which resulted in the agreements on the organisation of a number of Russian-Chinese exhibitions. The exchange project with the National Museum of China was included in the official programme for the Russian-Chinese Intercultural Year 2024-2025, announced by the governments of both countries.
In 2024-2025 in Beijing, the exhibition "Russian Feast - Traditional Food, Drinks and the Art of Table Setting. From the Collection of the Moscow Kremlin Museums" ran with great success and was visited by over 100,000 people.
From April 2025, the Moscow Kremlin Museums are holding the exhibition “Fine Dining: Stories of Food in Ancient China” from the National Museum of China. Both projects appeal to such an important aspect of human culture as gastronomic traditions and represent their national peculiarities.
In December 2023, during the Forum of United Cultures in Saint Petersburg, E.Yu. Gagarina signed the cooperation agreement with the National Museum of Oman, which resulted in the exchange exhibition project. In 2024, the Moscow Kremlin Museums hosted the exhibition “The Elegance of Silver: Valuables of the Omani Court”, and nowadays the response event is being prepared – the exhibition “Russia and the Middle East. International Relations and Cultural Influences” is due to open in the National Museum of Oman in December 2025.
