The Moscow Kremlin Museums carefully preserve in the collection the snuffbox that was made by the masters of the Royal Danish Porcelain Factory in the late 18th century.

The manufactory was founded in Copenhagen in 1760 by the artist from Meissen – J. Melhorn. After 1773, under the leadership of chemist Franz Müller, the enterprise began to produce hard-paste porcelain and, in 1779, it gained the status of state manufactory and the title “The Royal Danish Porcelain Factory”. The manufacturies of Meissen and Sèvres influenced Danish masters, however, their works possessed a certain individuality. The decorative painting on the items of the factory with floral and animalistic compositions of high artistic quality enjoyed popularity. The second heyday of the factory happened after 1867 when it was given to the private owner A. Falk. Arnold Krog who was invited to the factory after 1885 as an art director worked out a particular style of Danish porcelain that had a great impact on the porcelain of Russia and other European countries on the edge of the 19th-20th cc. The factory still exists, it produces the objects in the “modern” style by copying old models or creates new ones.
